ImagesIf you’re like me you love the new iPhone 3G but are frustrated by some missing features.  One of the first things I noticed when I got my iPhone was the inability to easily send a picture message (mms) to a non-iPhone user.

A NEW FAVORITE

I am an on-line shopper.  Like most people with internet access I’ve ditched most of the traditional brick & mortar shopping for the ease and cost benefit of buying on-line.  Last week our digital camera broke and with a 4 week old baby girl going without wasn’t an option for us.  I did my research and decided on a Canon PowerShot.  My first stop was StreetPrices.com & Google (Product Search) to find the best price (from a reliable on-line seller).  I found the camera I wanted and then compared the price to my local Best Buy.  After taxes, the Best Buy price was about $65 more than the on-line retailer.  I printed the price from the on-line store and headed to Best Buy to see what they would do.  I went straight to the camera section at BB and immediately a courteous sales rep asked if he could help.  I pointed to the camera that I wanted and told him I had found it on-line and gave him the number I was willing to pay.  He asked what website I had found it at so I showed him the page I had printed off with the detailed info.  He took the paper and told me he would see what he could work out.  I was expecting to have to haggle a little, ask for a manger etc… But, much to my delight, after I waited about 5 minutes he came back and said they could do it, no problem.  That was it…  I was really pleased with the whole experience and will do it again in the future.

The 3G iPhone is largely expected to be introduced at this year’s WWDC conference, with probable shipping in July. Engadget is not typically a source of original Apple rumors, but claims this information comes from a "trusted source" who has had first hand experience with one.

Just in case you’re interested.

No Exchange Support is the ONE reason I wouldn’t/couldn’t switch to ATT/iPhone.  The writing is now on the wall.  Once I get a second job to save up some money–iPhone here I come!  Way to go Apple who is becoming increasingly aware that business guys want to be cool too…

At its developer event his morning, Apple showed off the iPhone and iPod touch OS 2.0, which is quite an amazing update. It’s got fully loaded Exchange ActiveSync support, a full SDK opening up the complete iPhone toolkit – Spore and Super Monkey Ball for iPhone and touch look awesome and will challenge the DS and PSP – and it’s just got everything that was missing from the original iPhone (though no word on cut and paste yet…).

Have you ever used one of those Sharpie markers because you needed to make sure you didn’t get your underwear confused with your roommate’s? Well, my 2 year old found another use for the infamous Sharpie marker – I call it Plasma TV ART.  You can imagine my excitement when I came home the other day to some wonderful Sharpie artwork across the lower 1/3 of my big screen TV.  Fortunately, not all hope was lost.  I found an Expo dry erase marker, colored over the Sharpie with the Expo and ta-da! it wiped away like a charm.  Crisis averted.
