Cody and Stef’s Wedding

Today was a great day for two special people.  Cody and Stefanie tied the knot, before God and a standing room only crowd of people who love them.  Enjoy the pics

Doin' Life Together

Last night a bunch of young adults from Living Water gathered at our home to eat and play. Here are a few reasons why I love Saturday Nights:

First, let me say that my wife is amazing!  She cooks for 30+ people every Saturday Night – no small task.

Second, I love that Jesus gave us a home big enough to cram a bunch of people in it!

Third, I love that my boys think that it’s normal to be surrounded by a crowd of young adults that know how to have fun, but deeply love Jesus.

Fourth, I love being with some of the most special people I know on a weekly basis.

Fifth, it feels a lot like church…

Special note:  A friend of a friend named Salvador came by last night.  He is headed to South Africa on Monday morning to be a part of YWAM for 5 months.  We prayed for Salvador and I hope he felt the love and support that was in the room.  It takes a lot of guts to trust God and leave everything that is familiar to serve other people.  When you think about it, pray for Salvador and his family, that see the Finger of God moving mightily in their midst!

I just love it when people see the light. Kelly writes a great blog, check it out!

Suddenly, my Touch, which I was basically using as a super cool glorified mp3 player, is much more like a mini computer.  I love the map feature as well as the weather feature.  I was even able to find a Bible widget program.

Uh oh.  I feel my resistance to the dark side becoming weaker.  Jeremy and Jon will be so happy.

Thankful Things

I was rummaging through pictures and found this pic of two of our closest friends.  I thought it was timely because our friendship began the day after Thanksgiving in 1999 (I think).  There are few things sweeting in life than the friendships that stand over time.

How long does it take to cook a turkey?

This was our 2nd Thanksgiving that we cooked our own turkey.  I don’t know much about cooking turkey, but I do know it takes a long time to cook a 20lbs bird.  We gave ourselves 6 hours and still had to add a couple minutes to make sure no one got poisoned.  Our friends, who will remain nameless (www.jeremynicks.com) thought they could cook their bird in 3 hours.  Let’s just say it’s a good thing my nameless friend (www.bigcrate.net), is a communications director (www.livingwater.com) not a chef.  We still love him and respect him way too much to reveal his identity.

New Blogger…

It’s great to see more people blogging.  One of my friends and former co-workers just started a blog.  Check it out and send some trackbacks his way!
