Happy Thanksgiving…

It’s been a great day thus far: cleaning, playing with the kids, watched the Macy’s Day Parade, cooking (and watching my awesome wife cook) & reflecting on how grateful I am for so many things. Just a few:

-My family, Mom, Dad, Dave, Erin – Love you
-My family, Fawn, Sam, Andrew, Levi and Cozy – wow.. I love you more than I can say
-My grandmas and grandpas
-My friends and church family
-My Pastors: Pastor Burt and Jan
-Mentors who have shaped my life
-Men and women around the world who are serving in the Armed Forces… Words can’t express my gratitude for your (and your family’s) service
-Missionaries around the world who are away from their family for the Holidays b/c they responded to the call
-Jesus, without whom it would all be lacking…
-so much more!

Haiti Relief

Page.header_haiti
In response to the disaster in Haiti, this is what the Living Water family is doing.  Please pray with me for the tens of thousands who have been displaced and devastated.

Living Water cares about the 7.0 earthquake which struck Haiti on January 12th. Our hearts go out to the Haitian people affected by this tragedy. As a church we encourage you to respond to this situation in the following ways:

  • Pray for Haiti using these prayer points.
  • Participate in the Living Water Haiti Relief Offering or give a special gift in a regular offering.
  • Consider going to Haiti with Living Water's Relief Team.
  • Check out the Foursquare Missions (FMI) webpage for news about
Foursquare relief efforts and Foursquare missionaries in Haiti and the surrounding areas.
  • Pray for Living Water Missionaries to the Dominican Republic Rich and Kirsten Root.

Prayer Points

  • Pray for the people of Haiti as they deal with the aftermath of the earthquake, ask the Lord to comfort those who are injured and mourning.
  • Pray for rescue efforts to find survivors trapped in destroyed buildings and for communication links and power supplies to be restored quickly.
  • Pray that the country of Haiti would have a receptiveness to the message of the Gospel in the midst of this tragedy.
  • Pray for the relief efforts of the Foursquare family and the Foursquare missionaries in the area that they would have wisdom to know how to minister to those around them.
  • Pray for a swift and generous response from the international community to help this disaster-prone poor country.

On our way… @ 37K

Exciting News From The City Church

Judahchelsea-transition I love seeing God do great things everywhere in the church at large.  This week is an exciting week for The City Church in Kirkland, WA as they begin a transition to a new season of leadership under Judah and Chelsea Smith.  I am a big admirer of The City from afar and pray God's continued blessing for their church and especially their soon to be new leaders… (you can follow Judah on twitter @judahsmith)

From The City Church website…

The City Church announced today that Judah and Chelsea Smith will
become the church's Lead Pastors in September 2009 and will begin
immediately transitioning into their new leadership role. The Smiths
served as the church's youth pastors for seven years and in January
2009 Judah Smith became the church's Preaching Pastor.  Read More…

Cody and Stef’s Wedding

Today was a great day for two special people.  Cody and Stefanie tied the knot, before God and a standing room only crowd of people who love them.  Enjoy the pics

Biden forgets his website “number”

It strikes me as a little odd that on one had we've got the "blackberry" president Obama who can't live without his mobile device; and on the other hand we've got vice president Biden who can't remember his website "number".  Where did these two meet?  This clip is getting tons of hits on YouTube and is cause for the VP to be a little embarrassed.  I wonder if he's ever heard of YouTube…
