Archives For Church Life

I love people who are willing to passionately pursue God’s call where ever it takes them. Here is an example of two amazing people who were willing to do just that. I’m so thankful for the Living Water family who support the Roots and many others on the mission field.

Anthem is the School of Ministry that I graduated from 15 years ago… Man, I feel old.  The school continues to produces passionate followers of Jesus Christ who are prime leaders for their generation.  This year’s class left yesterday to minister in the Dominican Republic.  You can (and should) follow their trip at their blog.

Stop and take a minute today to pray for many “ENCOUNTERS” along their way!

Praise God for the good things He is doing at the Living Water Church! Here are some highlights…

  • My wife was among a couple hundred ladies who participated in this years Girl’s Get-A-Way.  I’ve heard a few testimonies of what God did, but I’m sure there are many more on their way.  If you went, I’d love to hear what God did!
  • There were a bunch of Anthem Students’ families in the services this weekend who were in town for their graduation.  I love the look in parents eyes as they observe their children serving God wholeheartedly!
  • Speaking of Anthem, I was given the privilege of speaking at their Commissioning Ceremony on Sunday night.  It brought me back 15 years when I stood there alongside my classmates (including Pastor Jake!) for that same reason.  God has been Continue Reading…

Here’s the update I gave about Rochester Foursquare over the past weekend.

Fawn and I had the distinct honor of being a part of the 2010 NDP.  Bellow are the notes from our prayers.

NDP 2010 Prayer Notes

Today was a great day for the LivingWater Foursquare family.  Not only did we see the grace of God at our normal campuses, but today was the beginning of a new journey with our Crossroads (Rochester) Foursquare sister church.  More about that later.  Just a reminder to all the guys out there-next weekend is Mother’s Day.  I’m sure you already have something planned…

  • This weekends message was about the joy that comes through tests.  I’ve already seen on Facebook how it resonated with many people.  Praise Jesus.
  • Temptation Tests come when we are lured to fulfill godly desire through UNGODLY means.  Faith Tests come when God was to REVEAL our potential faith that we wouldn’t experience any other way!
  • A little bit of exercised faith is better that a whole lot of theoretical faith.
  • Often times it feels like the amount of faith we have compared to the challenged is like the disciples bringing 5 loaves of bread to feed 10,000+ people. YET, Jesus takes a little faith put into practice and Continue Reading…

Get Satisfied…

My brain never stops thinking about how the church can leverage technology to fulfill her mission (preach, teach, serve, expect).  Let’s face it, the Gutenberg Press was a GAME CHANGING piece of technology and there is NOTHING that has leveraged it more than the Bible.

The local church needs to be more like a kitchen than a buffet.  Some people want to come to church to get fed, I want them to come to church and get hungry!

  • Hungry for the Word
  • Hungry to love selflessly
  • Hungry to serve with abandon
  • Hungry to give generously
  • Hungry for the supernatural work of God’s Spirit in and through their lives

Instead of people coming to expect a buffet of ministry Continue Reading…

Over the last week some great things have happened.  I’ve also been challenged to ponder several issues due to current questions and events.  I’d love your input.

  • I got to meet Aaron Keys at Catalyst West. – Aaron led worship for part of the conference and it blew me away.  This man is FULL of the scripture and it POURED out of him when he led.  When I spoke with him I could tell his passion for Jesus and Discipleship are authentic and DEEP.  Take a few minutes to read more about him, buy his stuff and support a great worship pastor.  My favorite statement that he made Continue Reading…
