Sunday Evening Thoughts…
I know I say it a lot, but I was BLOWN away by what God did this weekend at Living Water.
- I’ve known for a long time that I “married UP”, and this weekend verified that in so many ways. Fawn shared at the end of the preaching time and by the time she was done there tissue boxes spread out around the room and some people were literally weeping under conviction and the sense of God’s love.
- I had my normal 6-7 pages of notes ready to go on Friday night and the Lord told me to THROW THEM AWAY because He had something FRESH. I prayed, and cried, a lot between Friday night and Saturday night as I felt God heart for His church.
- Worship set the stage for God’s word and the move of the Holy Spirit at every service. CHERI, CODY and ANGELA did a GREAT job leading the church. I’m still singing, “Glory to God…”!
- We saw in the Word how God had always intended for man to walk in an intimate relationship with Him. EXAMPLES: Enoch-Genesis 5:21-24 // Noah-Genesis 6:6-9 // Moses-Exodus 33:11
- Just in case you missed it, GOD LOVES YOU and wants to COMMUNE WITH YOU EVERY DAY!
- You have no greater PURPOSE in LIFE than to entertain the presence of GOD in your LIFE.
- EVERYTHING significant and meaningful in your life will flow from that INTIMACY.
- Anything that distracts or disrupts your worship and intimacy with Jesus is an IDOL.
- We need to stop minimizing IDOLS by calling them STRUGGLES…
- Struggles you have to struggle with, IDOL MUST BE TOPPLED AND REPLACED.
- I LOVE the tenderness of our church to RECEIVE a CONVICTING word with open hearts! God love it!!!
- My wife, Fawn, shared what the Holy Spirit showed her about an idol that she has TOPPLED in her life. It’s worth watching online or getting the DVD just to hear what she preached at the end.
- GET A TIVO! (you had to be there…)
- There is NO CONDEMNATION in JESUS, but there is CONVICTION. Conviction will draw us into deeper intimacy if we respond to it!!!
- I love you! I am passionately praying for God to POUR OUT HIS LOVE AND SPIRIT on each of you.
- On another note, today we shared about what God has spoken to Pastor Terry and Lisa about their next step in ministry. I am so blessed by their courage and example. I am also thrilled that they will still be around so that we can benefit from their wisdom and leadership. If you didn’t hear the announcement, you can catch part of it here.
I love you all! See you next week.
DON’T FORGET ABOUT “UNITED BY ONE” at Markus Pavilion at St. Martin’s University! It’s going to be AMAZING!
