Sunday Evening Thoughts (with the sound of explosions in the background)
First of all, a big “thank you” to those who serve and have served in the name of freedom. Most of all THANK YOU Jesus for the freedom we have because of Your sacrifice. As I think about the liberty we enjoy as a nation, I think we should consider the admonition from Galatians 5:13:
“For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”
Some thoughts from the weekend.
- It was awesome having Pastor Burt in the house. He was at all of the BLVD Campus services and on video at the rest. I love having my pastor around.
- Pastor Burt talked about where he has been and some of the ways that God has been using he and Pastor Jan in the last months. (I’ll post the video as soon as I get it. You need to see it!)
- Pastor ALWAYS minimizes the scope of the impact his ministry has. He is passionate about God getting the glory and no one else. I can attest that our Pastor is being used by God to influence hundreds of thousands of lives around the world.
- I challenged all of us to be faithful to pray for our pastors as they do the things they have been asked to do.
- This past Wednesday was an Encounter Night. Our Elementary age kids joined us for the service and when it was time to pray they wend for it! I was in tears watching young kids pray with faith and fervor for God to move. I’m so proud of our CM leaders! Great job!
- Pastor Shane shared a prophetic word about spiritual “core exercises” from Jude 21-22. You should read it right now and give it a try.
- The Living Water Float and Monster Bus were in the Tumwater Parade this morning. I’m looking forward to hear how it went. I’m so proud of the team that serves to make those things possible. Thank God for motor heads that love Jesus!
- I’m exhausted, but probably won’t be able to sleep because of the wonderful illegal fireworks. Happy 4th of July!
