When God Fixes Stuff…

I’m going to be preaching in a few weeks on the 3rd chapter of Acts.  As I read through it here are a few things that jump out at me:

-It was about 3pm (thank you footnotes)
-Peter and John were on their way to the Temple
-It’s right after the Holy Spirit comes and thousands of people get saved
-The lame man doesn’t call out to Peter and John, they notice him first
-The lame man had been dependent on other people his whole life
-Peter uses the opportunity to preach a very Jewish salvation message
-(Chapter 4) The Religious leaders are not happy about the preaching, and seem to care less about the man who was healed
-Peter incriminates everyone who hears him with Jesus’ death

Anything to add?

What I always think when I read this is that the people were not amazed at what this guy was saying or anything like that. They were amazed at the change in his life. They knew him as one man, and they now saw him as a new man. It was the change in his life that caught their attention not crafty words or stuff.
