IT WAS A DARK AND STORMY NIGHT…

We got a taste of rustic life last night. We lost power about 5pm and didn’t get it back until about 11am the next day. Here’s how the evening went.

4:45pm – power goes out
5:00pm – I say, “I’m sure it won’t be out for more than an hour”
6:15pm – Power still out
6:30pm – We head to Target for flashlights and candles
7:30pm – We light candles and get ready for bed
8:00pm – All the boys climb in our bed and we talk about what it would be like to live without electricity. (We actually had a really cool talk about how you could get lost and hurt if you don’t have light, and how Jesus is the Light of the World. I’m not sure if Andrew understood the concept though, when I asked him what could happen if we lived in a dark place before there was electricity he said, “we might get run over by a car”… We tried!)
8:30pm – Lights out!

I must say that I don’t think we missed out on anything important, it was kind of fun. Now the power is back on, and so is the TV… I kind of liked it the other way.

Speaking of Dark and Stormy nights . ..

Jons most recent post recalls their dark and stormy (poetic license-no storm) night without power, all the kids in their bed, the scientific, historical and theological discussions. A night rich and full because a car hit a pole. Taking the most…
